02 Vitus 979 - 発見

ebay探訪を繰り返す中、見つけたの自転車が「Vitus 979」だ。
チューブが細く、フレーム全体がスッキリとシャープな印象がある。
ところが、意外だったのは、それがアルミフレームだったという事だ。
それまで私が持っていた近年のアルミフレームの印象としては、
剛性を持たせるため(?)の太目のダウンチューブと
チューブの継ぎ目にある波打った溶接痕というものだった。

この「Vitus 979」というのは、どんな自転車なのか?
調べてみると、日本では「ビチュー」と呼ばれているらしい。
アルミ接着フレームとしてはイタリアのALANブランドが先行していたようだ。
「私も昔乗っていたよ」的なコメントは見つかるものの、まとまった情報はない。
やはり海外の情報に頼るしかない。

Vitus ブランドは、現在イギリスの「Chain Reaction Cycles」 が所持している。
だが、そのホームページにも2011年以前のVitusの情報は皆無。
もちろん、「Vitus 979」 のサポートもしていない。

自転車乗り達にとって、ブランドの成り立ちなどという話題などは興味なしという事なのか?
いやいや、コルナゴやカンパニョーロの歴史・伝説・逸話なんていうのは、吐き捨てる程あるじゃないか。

とにかく、ebayでちょっと面白い「Vitus 979」 を落札した。
フランスからは7〜10日程度で届く予定だ。

 Vitus 979 - Encounter

In repeating the ebay explore , I found a " Vitus 979 " .
Tube is thin , there is a sharp impression and refreshing the entire frame .
However , it was a surprising , it's that it was the aluminum frame .
As impression of aluminum frames in recent years that I've had up to that point ,Down tube bit big for you to have a stiffness, andIt was that welding After waved at the seam of the tube .

" Vitus 979 " is whether the bike like?

When I examine , it seems is called " Bichu " in Japan .
ALAN brand of Italy seems to have been preceded by adhesion as aluminum frame .
Comment " Me too , riding a long time ago " a basis found , but no information was gathered .

I have to rely on the information in the overseas also.

The Vitus brand, the British "Chain Reaction Cycles" is the current owner.
However, even their home page, there is no information of Vitus in 2011 earlier.
Of course, do not have the support of "Vitus 979".

Anyway, I found an interesting "Vitus 979" on ebay.And made a successful bid.
It is scheduled to arrive in 7 to 10 degree from France....
